For all those “Christians” who lead
people astray by telling them things that are contrary to the Bible:
You should take a warning from what
God told the false prophets in Jeremiah, what He told those who lied to the
people, who told the people what they wanted to hear instead of telling them the
Truth:
“ ‘Both prophet and priest are
godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness,’ declares the Lord.
‘Therefore their path will become
slippery; they will be banished to darkness and there they will fall. I will bring disaster on them in the year
they are punished,’ declares the Lord.
‘… And among the prophets of
Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery [with other
“gods” and false “truths”] and live a lie.
They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from their
wickedness. They are all like Sodom to
me … like Gomorrah.’
Therefore. this is what the Lord
Almighty says concerning the prophets:
‘I will make them eat bitter food
and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets … ungodliness has spread
throughout the land.’
This is what the Lord Almighty says:
‘Do not listen to what the prophets
are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not
from the mouth of the Lord. They keep
saying to those who despise me, ‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’ And to all who follow the stubbornness of
their hearts they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’
But which of them has stood in the
council of the Lord to see or to hear his word?
Who has listened and heard his word?
See, the storm of the Lord will
burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked. The anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart.
In the days to come you will
understand it clearly. I did not send
these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them,
yet they have prophesied. But if they
had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and
would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds.’” (Jeremiah
23:11-22)
How can you tell which messages are
false and which are true?
It’s pretty easy nowadays … If the
media and the majority of people celebrate it and applaud it, then it’s most
likely a teaching that’s contrary to the Bible.
But if the message brings scorn to the Christian who spoke it then it’s
more likely to be God’s Truth. (This doesn't mean that all "scornful" messages are godly, just that they might be. Nearly all godly truths are scorned nowadays, but not all that is scorned is godly. Check it all against the Word.)
People nowadays do not want to hear
God’s truth, so they will attack it when they hear it. And they will celebrate the false messages because it lets them live the way they want.
The false “prophets” – the fake “Christians”
– will be guilty before God for denying God’s truth, for spreading lies, for telling the people
what they want to hear. But the people
will be guilty for only being willing to listen to what they want to hear, for wanting the lies, for refusing God's Truth.
And God has a day in store to punish
both!
If you really want to know what God’s
Word says about something, then do not listen to the “Christians” who are being
applauded by the media, by the world, the ones whose messages get nods of
approval from the godless world. Open up
the Bible for yourself and read it, from beginning to end, and then you’ll be
able to discern truth from falsehood for yourself.
There will be no excuse for
spreading lies or for choosing to believe lies when you stand before God in the
end!
“Then I saw a great white throne and
him who was seated on it. Earth and sky
fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing
before the throne, and the books were opened.
Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they
had done as recorded in the books ... The lake of fire is the second
death. If anyone’s name was not found in
the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. …
But the cowardly [those who turn
back from the faith], the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually
immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, and all liars – their place
will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
This is the second death.” (Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8)
What if? What if this is all true?
