Formerly "Heather's Garden and Home" - but it's been less about the garden lately and more about my thoughts on just about everything else.

Carman Understands the Spiritual Battle
With all the talk of spiritual warfare and demonic harassment in the last few posts (Christian testimonies), I thought I'd repost some songs from Carman. Older Christians will know who I'm talking about and might enjoy this blast from the past. And newer Christians might enjoy "meeting" him for the first time.
Yes, these are a bit campy, but they are fun and full of truth. And I think today's Christians could benefit from the spiritual wisdom of older believers like Carman - believers who understand the spiritual battle and how demons work and how Christians are supposed to fight evil. We've lost the knowledge of this over the years as Christians have increasingly viewed demons as legends, as mythical creatures who are way "out there" somewhere in the universe, instead of as powerful, living, active beings who are watching us, interfering with us, and attacking our minds and lives daily.
If we ignore the enemy, we can't fight him. If we don't know how the spiritual battle works, we can't win. If we don't know what our spiritual weapons are, we'll never take them up and use them. Wake up, Christians. The days are getting darker, and evil is spreading. Do you know how to battle it?

Christian Testimony about Spiritual Warfare (Jessica)
I've linked to this woman's testimony before, about how she became a Christian after being an atheist (click here to see it). But I recently stumbled across her YouTube channel again, and I saw that she had posted some videos on spiritual warfare, and so I watched them, and they're good. And she speaks from experience - her sister and mother are practicing witchcraft, and it pours over into her life and family. It's a shame that she had to put up some strong walls with her sister and mother because of it, but she is right in doing so. For her own spiritual protection and that of her children.
[Update: While I like and recommend her testimony video and the one on spiritual warfare, I am leery of the current ones she's posting about dreams and prophetic messages. I am very wary about that kind of stuff, especially when it's about earthly blessings or opportunities. Personally, I'd stay away from (or at least be very cautious and discerning about) messages and promises that come from other people, since they are not directly from God or His Word. Anytime we get our messages from other people, we can be led astray.]

Christian Testimony: Young Don Reborn
I recently began looking up videos again on other Christian's testimonies of coming to faith in God, in Jesus. (I find it helps bolster my faith, especially in these dark times.) And I found this guy. I've never heard of him and don't know anything about him except these three videos I watched ... but I gotta say, I really like him. Not only is he an enjoyable guy, but for being such a young-ish Christian, he's really got a lot of wisdom, boldness, and spiritual maturity. And I appreciate his humility and honesty. May God bless him and his ministry.
(And I can totally relate to the nighttime demonic harassment he went through. Been there myself. Non-Christians will call it "sleep paralysis," chalking it up to purely physical/mental causes, but we Christians know what it really is. See my post on it by clicking here.)
Young Don on why he became a Christian (28 minutes long)
Demons are real, and I was attacked by one (46 minutes long)
How to be truly saved from Hell! (27 minutes long)
And one more interesting one: "This is why I believe Jesus is coming back soon" (17 minutes long)

An Open Letter to Christian Churches Doing Yoga
We haven't set foot in a church for a Sunday service since we left ours in 2019. We were just so burned out on churches after dealing with the Calvinism that took over ours (and discouraged about how much it's spreading to many churches) that we simply stayed home and watched Tony Evans' sermons online (and we met with another family for Bible study for over a year, until they found a church to attend).
But recently, we decided to check out a church, just to see. And it was good. Not perfect, but good. We're not necessarily looking to make a church home out of it, but we just need a little something right now. And this was good enough. But on the way out, I saw a flyer for upcoming events at their church, and one thing they offered was a "Christian Yoga" class. That, to me, is a huge no-no, something Christians should not engage in. But they do. All over the place. With no sense of it being wrong.

Make of it what you will, but ... wow!
A round-up of random things:
Here's a 1-minute, 40-second video you might want to see, just because. Make of it what you will, but his passion and boldness is ... wow. Just wow!
Angry Arizonian Obliterates the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors
And another "just wow," but for a different reason (52 seconds): "Based parents kick out woke child from home. 'They' throws epic tantrum" (I agree with the person in the comment section who thought it was ironic that the adult-child filmed it thinking it would make the mother look bad! Ha!)
For some sad, scary news: "1000 athletes - collapsing, dying, heart problems, blood clots - March 2021 to June 2022" (I wonder what the connection could be? Because we all know it couldn't possibly be the "vac$ine".)
"Report: At least 769 recently vaxxed athletes collapsed last year during competition"
But for some potentially good and helpful news: "These natural substances neutralize covid vaccine spike proteins" and "Yes, you can detox from covid 'vaccine' spike proteins: here's how" (Might be worth a try, if you're concerned.)
And how about a thought-provoking radio program (57 minutes long) on demonic harassment, the end times, the political changes going on, etc.: "Fear No Evil"
And on a different note, my sons and I have been watching this 3-hour-long movie on the book of John, just because it's always interesting to see the Bible come to life: "The Gospel of John". I like that during the scene where Jesus chases the animals and money-changers from the temple, Jesus was aggressive, bold, powerful. My son said he looked crazy. And yeah, crazy ... but strong, passionate. I remember seeing a movie once where Jesus looked wimpy, gently pushing tables over with a limp wrist, oddly unemotional, little effort or anger. A weak milquetoast. I'd rather see the bold, strong, passionate Jesus because that's the kind of God I want, the kind I can trust. I don't want a milquetoast Jesus who can barely scare an animal, whose anger at sin barely registers. I want a Jesus who's powerful enough to handle the world's problems, who's aggressive enough to fight/defeat sin and evil, who's passionate enough to stand up for what's right and for those He loves, and who's strong enough (and loving enough) to catch me when I fall, to hold me up when I can't stand and have to lean fully on Him. That's my kind of Jesus. (Which reminds me of a song I love which also shows my kind of Jesus: "My Jesus" by Todd Agnew.)
And since my son's been asking questions about the book of Revelation, we watched this animation of it: The Book of Revelation Visual Bible (FYI, I do not believe the ESV is a good translation. See this post for more on that: "Is the ESV a Calvinist Bible?")
